Faroes at Open Repositories 2008

I have just presented the Faroes project at the Open Repositories 2008 Conference in Southampton.

It’s been an interesting day and there has been an emphasis on Web 2.0 and the impact that they might have on repositories. Our paper was on the story of how Faroes evolved from L2O and CLARET, although I also talked a lot about the fact that Web 2.0 tools are sometimes not enough, and that you might need to reassess the type of online application you are building. In other words, why Faroes will create a Living Share and not a Dusty Repository :-)

The slides from the presentation are also available on SlideShare.
